Long's Notes
A delicate, well-balanced Prosecco, showing a good blend of baked apple, sour lemon and grapefruit, with a lightly creamy mineral texture on the palate. Medium froth, with some body and a pleasant lemon and mineral finish.
Producer's Notes
Honeydew melon and white peaches with a hint of brioche. Fresh pear and white peach with a bright mineral finish. The fragrant and superbly structured grapes yield a fresh, light-bodied sparkling wine with persistent effervescence. Prosecco di Valdobiaddene is undoubtedly one of the most distinguished Italian white wines.
The grape varietal grown in Italy's Veneto region lends its name to the wine made from it. Prosecco is grown on the steep slopes of Valdobiaddene in the west and the softly rolling hills of Conegliano in the east.
The geological variances and incline toward the sun create a crisp, fine, mineral-forward western Prosecco, and a more earthy, robust eastern Prosecco. By law, Prosecco is created using a tank-method where the secondary fermentation occurs in bulk containers rather than bottles.
